Changing the wallpaper is a very basic and simple operation on the computer. And sometimes, changing the wallpaper also brings a new atmosphere to the computer. However, it would not be interesting to have someone change the desktop wallpaper without your consent.
Previously, the network administrator has instructed you to read how to restrict access to Settings and Control Panel Windows 10, prevent the behavior of changing system settings, interfaces and can only be opened by Administrator. However, if you just want to lock the right to change the desktop wallpaper, and set the default wallpaper of your choice, you can refer to our article below.
At the computer interface, press the key combinationWindows + R to open the Run window. Then enter the keyword gpedit.msc then press OK for access.
In the Local Group Policy interface that appears, you access the following directory path.
- User Configuration> Administrative Templates> Control Panel> Personalization
Look to the content on the right double clickPrevent changing properties on desktop background.
Prevent changing desktop background dialog box appears. Check the box Enabled button, then press Apply and press OK to apply.
Return to the Local Group Policy interface, continue to access the directory according to the path as below.
- User Configuration> Administrative Templates> Desktop> Desktop
Look to the right double click on properties Desktop Wallpaper.
The Desktop Wallpaper dialog box appears. Check the box Enabled Then go to Wallpaper Name, we need to enter directory path to save images want to set as the default desktop wallpaper.
Select the type of wallpaper set in Wallpaper Style then press Apply and press OK to save changes.
Exit the current interface and press Windows + I to openWindows Settings interface. Here you click on the settings itemPersonalization.
Switch to the new interface, Background section the user will receive a notification Some settings are hidden or managed by your organization as shown below. This means that the background change properties are hidden and no one can change the background image you have set.
Note to users, to cancel this option, we will do the same steps above, but switch from Enabled to Not Configured to return to a setting that can change the desktop background.
